Dance Dance Revulsion
A modern dance troupe in a dystopian future is forced into a dance competition with a robotic spider on a checkered dance floor that both maps their steps, and penalizes them with electrical shocks, burns, punjai pits and bludgeonings for erroneous steps, for the amusement of the gambling public, meant to keep them docile and subservient to their machine overlords, which as it turns out, exist fueled by the sweat of the dancers themselves. Eventually, everyone in the world has had their feet removed by John Lithgow, reprising his role from Footloose as the dance-hating preacher, except for one man, who challenges the spider to a dance-off, where it’s revealed the spider is actually the real John Lithgow, or rather his brain and spinal cord transplanted into the spider, and the preacher is actually an android rebelling against the other robots. The android John Lithgow and that one man, later revealed to be a young Michael Flattley, team up and battle the spider for the fate of humanity.
